Course Objective
Getting to have been known the production processes respectfull to the nature. To improve the evaluation conscious of ore beds with hydrometallurgical processes without hazardous applications for enviroment together with theoric knowledges.
Course Content
Hydrometallurgical definitions and concepts. Some minerals structure. Solution chemistry. Leaching agents, methods and equipments. Aspects of leaching conditions. The role of microorganisms, heating and mechanical activation etc. to the leaching. Leaching processes. The leaching of oxides and hydroxides. The leaching of complex oxides. The leaching of sulfides. The leaching of selenides and tellurides. The leaching of Arsenides. The leaching of silicates. The evaluation of the leaching solutions with precipitation techniques (with pH, reduction, cementation, cyrstallization) and isolation techniques (ion exchange, solvent extraction, reverse Osmosis). Human and environment factor. The problems.
