Dersin Amacı
Giving students an understanding of the principles of measurement, experimental errors, registering equipment, sensors, transducers, measurement equipment, calibration, measurements of physical magnitudes, and data analysis.
Dersin İçeriği
Definition of measurement and instrumentation. Demonstration and analysis of the block diagram of a measurement system. Terminology and errors of measurement. The concepts of sensor and transducer. Sensor types and application areas. Basic analog-digital conversion process. Example data acquisition systems.

7 Sensors and transducers. Classification and types of sensors.
8 The characteristics and electrical principles of sensors.
9 Working principle of light sensitive sensors and application areas. Solarcell, LDR, Photodiode, Phototransistor, Infrared (IR) transmitter-receiver, and Optocoupler.
10 Midterm exam
11 Working principle of heat sensors and application areas.
12 Measurement methods using different heat sensors.Heating control with NTC and PTC. Thermocouples.
13 Magnetic and inductive sensors.
14 Data acquisition methods and example applications.
